Release Highlights

This release expands multi-language support, enhances dimensional analytics including default dimensions and table extensions, and introduces new measures across Sales, Inventory, and Finance Insights. The update strengthens reporting flexibility for multi-entity organisations and improves operational and financial performance analysis.

Enhancements

• Multi-Language Expansion: All Business Central Insights apps are now available in German, French, Spanish, Danish, and Icelandic. • Dimension Table Extensions (All Apps): Business Central Insights now supports Dimension Table Extensions across all apps. Additional standard and custom fields can be exposed directly in datasets and reports without bespoke development. Release Highlights

This release introduces significant enhancements to dimensional analytics, improved filtering and time intelligence, and multiple app-specific improvements across Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Finance, Projects, and Service. Several legacy pages and parameter tables have been retired and replaced with improved Cube-based and unified parameter models.

Breaking Changes

• Removed "By Item Attribute" pages from all apps → Replaced by Cube-based reports. All 16 Item Attribute fields are now available in standard Cube reports.
• Removed "By Dimension Cube" pages from all apps → Fully replaced by Cube-based reports.

• Advanced Analysis by Business Central Dimensions: Dimensional analytics have been significantly expanded with advanced support for both transaction and default dimensions. Key improvements include:

• Improved Date Intelligence: New columns have been added to the Date table to simplify common reporting scenarios:

  • Up to End of Last Month: Shows data up to the last fully completed month.
  • Last 12 Months: Rolling 12-month period up to today.
  • Last 12M (Month End): Last 12 full months, ending at the most recent month-end.
  • Last 12M (Accounting Period End): Last 12 months ending at the latest closed accounting period.

• New Budget Display Filter: Added a Budget Display filter to Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Finance, and Projects Insights reports. This filter determines how budgets and budget variance fields are displayed (based on date). Available options:

  • All Budgets (Default) – Shows all budgets without date limits.
  • Up to Today (Last Refresh) – Shows budgets up to the most recent data refresh date.
  • Until Month-End – Shows budgets until the last day of the current month.
  • Up to Last Transaction – Shows budgets up to the most recent transaction date.

Breaking Changes:

• Jobs Insights has been renamed to Projects Insights, which includes a full rename of the semantic model with all tables, fields, and measures. This change impacts several apps, including Sales Insights, Purchasing Insights, Inventory Insights, Accounts Receivable Insights, Cash Flow Insights, and Service Insights. Due to the new app name, the app cannot be upgraded by simply overwriting the old version; instead, a new copy of the app must be installed. To make the transition easier, you can book a free session with us for assistance with the upgrade.

Enhancements:

• Drill-through is now enabled when analyzing data in Excel. You can double-click any cell to open a new sheet showing the detailed underlying records. This gives complete transparency and access to the most detailed level of your data, directly in Excel. If you find a measure that does not support drill-through, please let us know. • Added Shipping Advice (Partial/Complete) field to the Sales Line table.

• Enabled Ending Date filter on all manufacturing measures.
• Added row selection to the Actual vs. Expected Capacity report.
• Updated Actual Time Used calculation to align with the latest Business Central update.

Enhancements:

• Item Category Hierarchy: Introduced two additional hierarchy levels to Item Categories, enabling drill-down and analysis up to five levels deep. These enhancements have been applied across the Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Service, and Manufacturing apps.
• AI-Ready Data: Enhanced and optimized the semantic models to better support Power BI Copilot. By providing richer context within the model, Copilot can more accurately interpret and return high-quality results.

Breaking Changes:

• Sales and Purchasing Insights: The introduction of new "Total Sales" and "Total Purchases" reports required the removal of some legacy tables, particularly those related to G/L Accounts and Resources.
  Deleted Tables in Sales Insights: Posted Sales G/L Account Line, G/L Account Sales Field Parameter, G/L Account Sales Measure Parameter, Resource Sales Field Parameter, Resource Sales Measure Parameter.
  Renamed Field: 'Value Entry Date Filter' → 'Sales Date Filter'.

Sales Insights:

• Added new "Total Sales" reports that combine posted and outstanding sales data at the document line level (including Items, Resources, G/L Accounts, and other line types). Learn more here.
• Introduced a new "Budget Variance Calculation" filter with two options: "Only where budget exists" and "Treat missing budget as zero". This enables variance analysis even when no budget is defined.
• Added fields: 'Journal Batch Name' to the Customer Ledger Entries table; 'Assigned User ID' to the Sales Header table.

Purchasing Insights:

• Added new "Total Purchases" reports that combine posted and outstanding purchase data at the document line level.
• Introduced a Date Filter for Item Purchases reports, allowing users to analyze invoiced item data by Posting Date (default), Order Date, or Valuation Date.
• New Report: "Standard Cost Variance". This report displays items using the Standard Costing method, including actual cost, standard cost, variance, and variance percentage, helping identify cost deviations and improve cost control.

Inventory Insights:

• New Report: "Order Fulfillment". Displays outstanding sales order quantities alongside available inventory per product.
• Inventory Aging Report Enhancements: Added aging groups: "121–180 days" and "181–365 days"; Included additional measures: Cost Amount (Expected) and Cost Amount (Invd. & Expd.).
• Added 'Overflow Level' field to the Item table.
• Added 'Inventory Consumption Turnover (Value)' metric to the Days of Inventory Consumption report

• New Report: "Trial Balance". A foundational accounting report summarizing all G/L accounts with their debit, credit, and net balances over a selected period. Useful for validating that debits equal credits and ensuring the books are balanced.
• Added 'Journal Batch Name' field to the G/L Entries table.

Accounts Receivable Insights:

• Table Extensions: Added 8 text fields and 2 decimal fields to the Sales Invoice Header and Sales Credit Memo Header tables.
• Added the ability to calculate AR aging based on Document Date instead of Due Date. A new setup option, 'Use Document Date Instead of Due Date', is available in Insights Setup within the Power BI Insights Connector app.

Manufacturing Insights

• Added 'Cost Variance Type' field to the Value Entry table; 'Assigned User ID' field to the Production Order table.

Enhancements:

• Multi-Currency Reporting: We’ve extended Multi-Currency Reporting capabilities to the Purchasing, Inventory, Receivables, and Payables apps! • Delivery Analytics Enhancements:
  Added Sales Shipment Date Filter and Outstd. Sales Order Date Filter slicers to control which date field is used when filtering Sales Shipments or Outstanding Sales Orders.

• Added Shipping Agent and Purchasing Codes tables.
• Added Territory field to the Sell-to and Bill-to Customer tables.

• New Report – Safety Stock Coverage: This report shows the percentage of safety stock currently covered by available inventory. 100% means the inventory exactly matches the safety stock level. Values above 100% indicate available inventory exceeds the minimum threshold.

Finance Insights:

• Added Dimension 1 Table Extension Fields to Cubes reports.
• Enabled display of Total dimensions in Cubes reports.
• Added new measures: G/L Budget Variance (LCY) FYTD vs. Entire FY.
• Added VAT Date to the General Ledger Entry table.

Enhancements:

• Multi-Currency Reporting: We are excited to introduce Multi-Currency Reporting in our Finance and Sales Insights apps! This feature enables the conversion of Local Currency (LCY) into Reporting Currencies (RCY), which can be configured within the connector app. You can find more information here.
• Company Group Reporting: The Company Group feature has been added to our connector app, allowing you to group multiple Business Central companies and generate consolidated reports at the group level. This enhancement is now available across all our apps.

• On-Time Delivery Report: Added a new "Sales Order Lines (Shipped and Outstanding)" calculation.
• Added option to calculate Delivery Days and On-Time Delivery based on the "Planned Shipment Date".
• Added new measures to Unposted Sales Documents (Sales Orders): Prepayment Amount Invoiced Incl. VAT (LCY), Amount Not Invoiced Excl. Prepayment Incl. VAT (LCY).

Purchasing Insights:

• On-Time Receipt Report: Added a new "Purchase Order Lines (Received and Outstanding)" calculation.

Inventory Insights:

• New Report Days of Inventory Consumption: Measures the number of days a company’s inventory will last based on consumption rates.
• New Report Inventory Aging: Categorizes inventory into aging buckets to show how long items have been in stock, displaying both quantity and inventory value.
• Out of Stock Days Report: Now shows how many days products have been out of stock or below the Safety Stock Quantity.
• Days Sales of Inventory, Inventory Turnover, Sell-Through Rate, and GMROI – Enhanced with field parameters for greater customization.
• Inventory Valuation Report: Added row selection functionality, allowing users to filter valuation by any field or dimension.
• Location Row-Level Security: Added for improved access control.

Finance Insights:

• Added G/L Account Category Levels 5 and 6 to Cubes and the P&L Statement.
• Additional Reporting Currency (ACY) Enhancement: If ACY is not enabled, ACY measures will now return LCY (Local Currency).
• Added Document Date to G/L Entries.

Manufacturing Insights:

• Improved API performance, leading to faster data refreshes.
• New Report Routing Completion: Analyzes production routing performance by calculating the percentage of completed routing lines where all production order line quantities are posted as routing output quantities. Provides insights by Work Center, Machine Center, Production Order, and other key dimensions to support better operational decisions and increase production efficiency.
• Row-Level Security Enhancements: Added for Dimension 1, Dimension 2, and Dimension 3.

Enhancements:

• Multi-Environment Data Consolidation. We’re excited to introduce Multi-Environment Data Consolidation across all our Power BI apps. This feature allows you to effortlessly consolidate data from multiple Business Central environments within the same tenant, providing a unified and comprehensive view of your business operations. • Azure Maps Integration. Azure Maps visuals are now enabled across all reports. This powerful visualization tool brings geospatial data to life with interactive and visually engaging visuals. Sales Insights:

• Enhanced 'On Time Delivery' Report. Users can now switch between Requested, Promised, and Planned Delivery Dates for deeper delivery analytics. Learn more: Delivery Analytics.
• Added two new reports to support G/L Account Sales Analysis: G/L Account Sales Cube, Total G/L Account Sales Table
• Improved Unposted Sales Documents: Added Planned Shipment Date and Created Date as new filter options.
• New Ship-to Address Table: Introduced a Ship-to Address Table with 4 Text Field Extension fields for enhanced customization.

Purchasing Insights:

• New Data Fields in Job Ledger Entries. Added Document No. and External Document No. fields to the Job Ledger Entries for enhanced tracking and analysis.

Enhancements:

• Dimension descriptions: Improved readability by displaying actual dimension names instead of dimension numbers.

Breaking Changes:

• State fields renamed to County. Examples of updated field names:
  Location State → Location County
  Bill-to State → Bill-to County
  Reason: The term state is reserved in Power BI, causing conflicts with the Q&A and Key Influencers visuals.

Sales Insights:

• Table Extensions: Added 4 additional text fields to the Sales Invoice Header and Sales Credit Memo Header tables.

Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable:

• Added Document No. to Detailed Customer Ledger Entries and Detailed Vendor Ledger Entries.

Date Table Enhancements:

• Introduced Forecasting capabilities, allowing comparisons of Actuals to Budget and Forecast in the same report. Forecast measures have been added to all cubes and P&L Statement reports. You can now select a specific Forecast using the filter located on the right side in Filters pane. To show forecast measures, set 'Show More' to 'true' in the filters pane.
• Added Statistical Accounts and Ledger Entries tables with new measures: Statistical Amount and Statistical Amount Balance.

Manufacturing Insights:

• Added Week slicer to all Manufacturing reports.

Enhancements:

• Report Design: Enhanced overall design for improved user experience.
• Profiles: Introduced the ability to personalize your Power BI navigation menu. Profiles enable selective display of relevant reports and the ability to hide unnecessary ones (learn more here).
• Deprecated 'by Company' reports in favor of 'Cube' reports. A Company Filter is now available in the left menu of each report page, enabling multi-company views when the filter is removed.
• Row-Level Security: Added new role 'Global Dimension 1 & Dim. 2' (learn more here).

Sales Insights:

• Measure Enhancements: Added Prior Year (PY), Year-over-Year (YOY), and YOY % measures to the Measure selections.
