New App: Warehouse Insights
Release Highlights
We're excited to introduce Warehouse Insights, a new Power BI app for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It turns your standard Business Central warehouse data — principally the Warehouse Entry and Bin Content tables — into operational analytics covering throughput, occupancy, capacity, replenishment, and slotting.
Warehouse Insights works across the full range of BC warehouse setups, from basic order-by-order picks and put-aways through to fully directed put-away and pick (WMS) locations using zones, bin types, bin ranking, and bin capacity (weight/cubage). It models the three ways BC records picks and put-aways — Warehouse, Inventory, and Implicit — so counts stay correct however your locations are configured.
Purpose-built analytical pages
- Bin Replenishment — classifies every pick bin as Empty, Below Min, Within Min-Max, or Above Max, and quantifies the stock to move to restore the range.
- Capacity Utilization — weight and cubage utilization against defined bin capacities, with capped gauges and uncapped detail to expose genuine overflow.
- Warehouse Velocity Heatmap — colour-coded fast-vs-slow-mover map to drive slotting and layout decisions against bin ranking.
- ABC Item Classification — ABC (70/25/5) analysis by pick lines, put-away lines, quantity, or cubage/weight balance, with a cumulative-% curve.
- Warehouse Entries — transaction-level detail and drill-through, reconciling every KPI back to its source warehouse entries.
Self-service exploration pages
- Warehouse Table — build any measure by any dimension on the fly (select measures / select rows).
- Warehouse Cube — cross-tab any measure across two dimensions (adds select columns).
- Warehouse by Period — trend any measure over time, with full fiscal-calendar support.
- Warehouse over Comparison Period — compare the current period against a prior period or the same period last year.
