Multi-Currency Reporting in Power BI for Business Central

We are excited to introduce Multi-Currency Reporting, a powerful new feature in our Power BI apps for Dynamics 365 Business Central. This feature enables businesses to convert Local Currency (LCY) into Reporting Currencies (RCY), ensuring greater flexibility and accuracy in financial and operational reporting.

Key Features of Multi-Currency Reporting

Multiple Exchange Rate Methods: Choose from various exchange rate calculation methods to suit your business needs:

  • Historical Rate: Uses the exchange rate from the transaction posting date.

  • Monthly Average Rate: Calculates the average exchange rate over a given month.

  • Month-End Rate: Uses the exchange rate from the last day of the month.

  • Latest Spot Rate: Reflects the most recent exchange rate based on the last refresh date.

Automated Exchange Rate Retrieval: We retrieve exchange rates directly from the standard Business Central Currency Exchange Rates tables. To ensure accuracy, please make sure that exchange rates are enabled and regularly updated in your Business Central environment. For step-by-step guidance on setting up exchange rates in Business Central, refer to this tutorial: 🔗 Setting Up Exchange Rates in Business Central

NOTE: If no exchange rate is available for a given date, the report automatically fetches the latest available exchange rate. If no rate is found, an error will be displayed.

Dynamic Currency Conversion: Effortlessly convert Local Currency (LCY) into designated Reporting Currencies (RCY), configured per company within the Power BI Insights Connector app.
